Utility Management

Knollwood Apartments
Irving, Texas | 188 units
Overview
The energy company Knollwood was using replaced the gas meter because the original meter had died. With the new meter, the energy bill tripled and continued to rise until it quadrupled 9 months later. Performance noticed the discrepancy right away on the first bill received after the meter changed and requested a re-read. The energy company went out and said the meter was good. Performance persisted for 9 months as we noticed each month that the bill kept increasing.
The energy company claimed that the original meter was bad and the new meter was reading correctly. Unsatisfied with this answer, Performance demanded that the meter be changed. When the meter was finally changed, the energy bill went back to average. With all the facts in place, Knollwood was able to get a $15k refund.
